Traveller's Neti Pot Overview

This neti pot is perfect for traveller's and beginning practitioner's of jala neti. Small at 6" long, 3" high andonly 1.5" wide, it holds enough water to properly cleanse one nostril (6 fl oz). Plastic construction is light weightand durable. Tapered nose hole fits all practitioners. The low price makes it ideal for beginner's who want toexplore nasal irrigation without making a big comittment.I've sold these wholesale for years to studios who use themfor workshops that include jala neti and have had nothing but good reports. Benefits of Jala NetiJala Neti means "water cleansing" and is one of the shat kriyasor "6 purification techniques" common to yoga.Reported benefits to sinus health include:* Reduction of allergy problems* Easier breathing (helps with pranayama)* Reduction of or elimination of post-nasal drip* Reduction of or elimination of chronic sinus infections* Common colds are either avoided or shortened* Improved sense of smell and tasteThe practice is easy and millions of people in East Asiado it every morning much like we brush our teeth. Using your Traveller's Neti Pot Mix 12 oz. of warm water with a bit more than 1/4 teaspoonof salt. (Personal experimentation will reveal the right temperatureand salinity for you.) Non-iodized salt is recommended. Pour half thewater in the neti pot. Tilt your head sideways above a sink and placethe tapered spout in your upper nostril. Tilt the pot so water runs intoupper nostril and out the lower. Sometimes when one side is verycongested the flow will be blocked in one or the other direction.Repeated practice on the "good" side will often remove the blockage. Breathing quietly, through the mouth is generally recommendedwhile practicing jala neti. Some practitioners also sniff a bit of waterinto their sinuses and let it pass out the mouth while practicing. Keep a tissue or handkercheif handy for blowing your nose after practice.
